It primarily uses high vacuum negative pressure to inhale dust, particles, and liquids into the dust collector,  where they are filtered before clean air is discharged.  
Compared to ordinary household or commercial vacuums, industrial vacuums offer stronger suction, higher efficiency, better filtration  precision, and larger dustbin capacity.
